Equipment hirePass printers and scanning devices for your event.

You don't need to hire anything: passes print on any printer or as a PDF, and they're checked on any phone. If you'd rather not depend on the office printer and volunteers' phones, hire ours: delivered a few days before your event, wherever it is, with 24-hour support while it runs.

  • Charged and ready to use when it arrives
  • Signed in to nobody: your stewards use their own sign-ins
  • Wiped when it comes back to us

Pass packs £65 for 100 passes ($85 in the US): blank cards and the ribbon to print them both sides. Order what you'll print, and unopened packs come back for credit.

Prices are before VAT and other taxes, which are added where they apply.

The pass printer

Colour passes, printed at your own desk.

An Evolis Primacy 2 prints a credit-card-size pass with the photo, the zones and the code the gate scans, in colour on the front and black on the back. Its driver comes with your order, and on the day the printer arrives we print one together from your computer, so anything that won't install is found then, not during your event.

  • Both sides printed in one go
  • Passes print from the browser, so the printer's driver is the only thing to install
  • Pass packs in the box, as many as you've ordered
A printed championship pass for The Northgate Championships: Amara Osei of Westvale Harriers, athlete, with her photo, the field of play, call room and warm-up track, and the code a steward scans.
Android scanning devices

A device for every gate, with its own data.

Every scan is checked against your workspace as it happens, so a gate needs a connection. Ours bring their own: a mobile data SIM in each device, so a crowded venue's Wi-Fi never holds up the line.

  • Green or red, with the face on the screen and a reason the steward can read out
  • Set up before it reaches you, so a steward signs in and starts scanning
  • One for each gate lane open at once, and a spare

The small print

Questions about hire.

Do we have to hire anything?

No. Passes print from the browser on any printer, or as a PDF for a print shop, and they're checked on any phone. Hire is for when you'd rather not depend on the office printer or volunteers' own phones.

How many printers do we need?

One, for most events that print their passes in the weeks before. If you'll print most of them on the day, hire two. We'll talk it through when you order.

How many scanning devices?

One for each gate lane open at the same time, and one spare.

Mac or Windows?

Either. The printer's driver needs administrator rights on the computer to install, so we send it with your order and check it on the test call.

What if the printer stops on the day?

Call the number in the box, at any hour. Most problems are a jammed card or a ribbon, and we'll sort them out with you on the phone. Meanwhile passes still print as a PDF on any office printer.

What if something is lost or damaged?

Ordinary wear is ours. Anything lost, or damaged beyond wear, is charged at what it costs to replace, and the hire terms say so before you sign.

Who is signed in on a scanning device?

Nobody, until a steward signs in with their own account: every plan includes 25 to 75 staff sign-ins. When it comes back we wipe it, sessions and all.

How late can we order?

At least three weeks before your event's first day. Sooner is sometimes possible, so ask.

Can you send it anywhere?

Yes, wherever your event is. Order at least three weeks before your first day, and we'll confirm the delivery date when you do.
